Docudrama Film “Melody of Life”

The docudrama film Melody of Life is a cinematic experience that blends documentary realism with emotional storytelling, exploring memory, loss, and the fragile line between reality and human experience. The Melody of Life documentary film is a research-based docudrama directed, written, and researched by Atefeh Farhangikia, created in 2023 in response to the tragic bus crash at Islamic Azad University, Science and Technology Branch.
Research Branch in Tehran on December 25, 2018, which resulted in the death of 10 students and injuries to 28 others. The incident led to widespread student protests demanding accountability from university authorities and later
extended into the streets of Tehran, where it became a broader expression of public grief and anger.
“Melody of Life” focuses on the human consequences of this tragedy, exploring the lives of injured students and the emotional aftermath carried by families, classmates, and a society marked by loss and unanswered questions. Through
A combination of research-based storytelling and documentary narrative, the film examines themes of responsibility, silence, and the lasting impact of institutional negligence.
A significant part of the project is grounded in in-depth research conducted by Atefeh Farhangikia, shaping both the narrative structure and emotional core of the film. The production was carried out by Rayka Advertising Agency, which
supported the development and realization of the project.
The music of the film, inspired by poetry from Margot Bickel, was composed by Ardavan Anzabipour. The soundtrack has received multiple international awards and has been performed in various live concerts, serving as a tribute to those
who lost their lives. “Melody of Life” stands as a cinematic reflection on memory, loss, and the enduring need to remember and honor those who are gone.
